The Kills
Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart.

I saw them live in 2011 at Anson Rooms in Bristol, UK. It was a VERY loud concert, but I'll never forget it.

They sound very, very good, tight. Heard of them somewhere, forgot from where. Very well performed the song live.

Hi, yes, Jamie Hince is a genius on the guitar. Alison is just lovely and angelic. I hear she's a very shy person in nature, but her confidence appears on the stage.
I love the bond, and the musical chemistry between them. They are like brother and sister, the way they treat and love each other. Its so adorable.
Literally the only thing I don't like about this video is Alison's tacky gold shoes. She wore them so much back then and they turned into an off-white colour. Lol.
This video I posted was filmed around 2008. But I saw them live in 2011, as I've said earlier.

Re: My favourite band ever.
Thanks for those fine details about them, I'm glad they have such a deep connection.
Hell, every band should have it.
Like a family.
Didn't notice the shoes until you mentioned them.
Not a fan of golden shoes, but they don't bother me much to be honest.
When you compare this 2008 performance and the one you saw in 2011, what would you say.. did their sound evolve and have they changed something in the way they perform?

Re: My favourite band ever.
Yeah, I don't like the colour gold. It reminds me of a block of calcified vomit with glitter sprinkled on top Sorry to get too graphic. I don't like silver either. I am more of a copper and bronze girl, to be honest.
Alison was with the band the Dead Weather from the years 2009 to early 2010 (I think, don't quote me on this) She completely changed and evolved with the other band, in her stage mannerisms and her voice became like 5 times stronger. Even Jamie Hince mentioned it, he said he saw a new confidence in her voice which he'd never heard beforehand.
I saw them during their Blood Pressures era, when Alisons hair was still dark. Its a bleached blonde colour now. In 2011, they performed their bluesy numbers from Blood Pressures, and a few earlier classics like 'Kissy Kissy' and 'Fuck the People' if I remember rightly. My dad accompanied me to this concert and he said its not his style of music.
Alison was definitely more 'animated' during the 2011 concert, her stage mannerisms changed completely and she danced and moved around the stage a lot more, compared to 2008. Her voice was a 9 out of 10.
My favourite song from Blood Pressures is probably 'DNA' -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnB1ZFcnoos. 'Fate, with a single blow, has custard pied me now.'
They are my absolute favourite band. Their new album Little Bastards is out on December 11 I think? Its a compilation of some of their unrealeased songs dating back from about 2003 or 2005, to 2009. I am asking for it as a Christmas present from my brother. He will probably have to order it off of Amazon for me.

Re: My favourite band ever.
Bronze is a very fine colour, indeed.
I am glad that she found the best way for her to express herself musically.
It isn't an easy task, many musicians struggle to find the right path.
So, a compilation album is on the way?
I love hearing the early songs from bands, so I will check it out in December.
A good way to get to know the band is to listen to early songs.

Re: My favourite band ever.
I finally got this damn CD! It took about 7 months but oh well. Its worth it for the alternate version of Love is a Deserter alone. I love this song. 'Get the guns out, get the guns out.'
