This is typical of Jim's writing. there is a lot of imagery some I can understand and others not. There is a lot of scenes from his life in LA, Florida and France.
To understand it, you have to know something of each place. The Candles in the cathedral - just that. Stained glass wondiows. Many things that are word pictures.
It is difficult for me to go through and telly ou all the story but his writing is about his experiences. Some, of course, are impressions so we now are trying to understand what it is that he is speaking of.
Interesting, and sad because in those words if you understand what he is saying, you can see him call for a return to his youth and the dreams and ambitions that he had, Not specified but alluded to.
I have the feeling that his youth in that military family was not a happy one.
This certainly is a great opening into Jim and his feelings.
