The 3 Js

We're lucky to have former Doors road manager Vince Treanor here to answer fan questions and share some of his memories. Ask Vince about anything related to the equipment The Doors used, stage set-ups, specific concerts, the band after Jim's death, and working on the Oliver Stone movie.

The 3 Js

Hi Vince,
Did you ever hear when Jim said "I am third" after Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin died at age 27. Did Jim ever talk about Jimi and Janis as artists?
Thanks!

When Jim spoke of artists they usually realted to older performers, those who set the stage for the music of the 1960 era.

The talk of one artist by another was usually of their activities, their accomplishments rather than personalities.

Jim "Said" a lot of things if you want to read all that has been written. If you remember, the late JC had quite a dialogue with the devil. I am sure the reporting witness to both these events were the same person.

There will always be the Quotes that are discovered AFTER some event happens. These seem always to fortell of the event or prove that someone knew it was really true. "I heard Jim say....." and so on.

All of this must be taken with thought and possibly a bit of skepticism.
