Jim's Hollywood Bowl vest and European tour jacket

Post by StrangeNightOfStone »

Does anyone know if the vest Jim wore at the Hollywood Bowl was worn at any other concerts? Where is the vest today? I heard one rumor it's owned by the singer of a certain Doors tribute band. Did the vest make an appearance in the Doors film? I could have sworn someone was wearing it during the Thanksgiving scene...

How about the leather jacket Jim wore during the European tour, the one with the giant lapels- is this the jacket Jim tossed in the trash?

The Hard Rock Cafe owns the leather pants Jim wore at the Hollywood and Singer Bowls- they had it at the Boston Hardrock a few years ago...

I was recently there and they had a pair of Jim's boots and the original COTL handwritten lyrics. The leathers were nowhere to be seen.

Hardrock rotates thier artifacts to different branches every year or so-After Jim's pants were in Boston, I think they went to Sydney Australia-I'm not sure where they are today...

I think those pants are in NYC? maybe back in Boston? If you watch some of the FOF footage, it might be the video for RHB or The Changeling, you can see Jim with the Hollywood Bowl vest at another concert. The footage is really dark, but it appears to be an indoor concert. There are also photos from a concert at an outdoor show in Santa Barbara June 28th, '68 and he's wearing the vest.
Wasn't there a show or photo with Dick Clark and he had Jim's jacket with the fur collar.

Interesting-no fur on the wrist cuffs- were they removed, or is this a different jacet? Not the real thing? Nice pic btw..

I liked that exotic fur coat jim wore in early 68....

Didn't Jim's 'Critique' suede jacket sell at auction a few years back?

Chris?

what do you suppose that vest, and the leather Hollywood Bowl pants would fetch at auction? $10,000 each?

The Hardrock paid 40k for those pants alone at auction about 10 years ago.

Given Jim's fascination with American Indians, its a bit of an irony that some of his items are owned by the Hard Rock cafe, a buisness franchise that is owned by an American Indian tribe
