I am currently enjoying the dark atmosphere of ''The thing that should not be'' by Metallica.

What a great song it is ! Has enough ''punch'' to headbang but it also has this mellow rhythm. Add that it is based on the Chtulo myth by Lovecraft and we have a winner here.

If you havent listened it, please do

That voice.. That man is live even better then on normal albums.
I can't believe we send the biggest trash to the Eurovision song contest while we have such a great talent in Holland.

A lost gem (that you likely haven't found)......

Tom Rapp & Pearls Before Swine From the LP "Balaklava".

It starts with a remarkable & actual 1890's voice recording by Trumpeter Landfrey...the surviving trumpeter of the Charge of the Light Brigade at Baklava, 1854.

The first song is "Translucent Carriages"--a beautiful psychedelic folk song with nightmarish whispers of the images of war, including "only the dead have seen the end of war". The second is a trippy song- "Images of Nature".

Enjoy, if you never have ESPECIALLY! =)

 I suppose this should have gone in your "psychedelic topic", Tomi.....enjoy anyway.

Another Melbourne, Florida lad.....home of our Jim.....
and Tom Rapp (Rapp is still there). Maybe that will get you into
him. Same time-line as Jim.

Tom liked to joke at live shows that PEARLS BEFORE SWINE was
the house-band for the SDS (that 6o's anarchist group, Students for
a Democratic Society). Tom was decidedly anti-war.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rapp actually beat out Bob Z. Dylan in an amateur talent show, when
they were just little buds...of course, ultimately, they both lost the final
to a baton twirler!! That was before he moved to Florida when he was still in grade school......
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stoner, psych folk.....multi-textured music. I won't push TOO much, but
if given the chance, go to ESP Records site..you can download or
buy "Balaklava", a highly rated classic gem.....or the complete
ESP collection.

So give a listen "Another Time"...........from "One Nation Underground"
LP.....

Pretty mellow stoner music...heh?!!

:mrgreen:Damn....fixed the link, now! It's allllright.

Revelation LoVE

it has it's moments and no matter what Arthur and most say...I dig it.

What about you, Ed?!!

Granted i don't listen to it often, but it's been awhile and I can see why it influenced the Stones so strongly!
