Did anyone ever see this show? I never did. And I want to know if it is worth it to contact the Vara to see if they can send a tape of that program.
Can someone tell me more about this please?

Tussen 1967 en 1968 kwam in de hoek Los Angeles, San Francisco en Sacramento een nieuwe muziekstijl op, de “psychedelic Rock”. Bands met aparte namen als Jefferson Airplane en The Doors braken hiermee door. Jim Morrison bezong in ‘L.A. Woman’ de schoonheid van de vrouwen in Los Angeles. Büch bezoekt de ‘Sunset Sound Recorders and Elektra Studios’ waar The Doors hun platen opnamen. Ook brengt hij in deze aflevering een bezoek aan het MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. In de zomer van 1968 droomde hij al van een bezoek aan dit park naar aanleiding van het gelijknamige lied van Richard Harris.

Yes, I saw the show when it was aired.I remember Boudewijn in a Park in either LA or San Fran telling he was at a doors concert.But what he told were not fact's.I believe, if I recall that the Jim he saw was fat 'n a'' and he was talkng about 1967 or so.
I recently heard that Boudewijn Buch made a lot of things up and that he acted like he knew a lot, but in fact just before the camera roll, he read some books about it, or an article and made a lot of things up.
Anyway, the clip isn't with the Doors, only The Byrds.Maybe I still have the show on VHS somewhere...

Thanks for answering Ed That's a bit dissapointing. I always thought Boudewijn Buch chose subjects for his shows that were close to him or he had real interest in. I thought he was a real doors fan. Obviously not
I remembered this .. bad ... show! Obviously done by someone who has followed a 1-day workshop "Quick introduction to the Doors" or that kind of thing.

This still is such a dissapointment to me. I always liked Boudewijn his shows and he always seemed so interested. And this one he fucks up.

I found this article about the show Boudewijn Buch did about the Doors/Jim.
It's in Dutch. I will try to make a short translation later. Not today.
It's not really that interesting though. It's about LA woman and Boudewijn visiting the studio.
I have somewhere a VHS video cassette of it. I remember that it was very disappointing as Ed pointed out.
Buch told that Morrison exposed himself on stage several times and vomitted during his shows.
Same about a BNN show with the late presentator Bart de Graaff. I taped this show and again it was rubbish!

I had no idea BNN did a program about the Doors. I didn't miss much I hear.
Saw some time ago on the site of speurders someone was selling alot of shows of Buch for 2 euro, the one about the Doors was included, but I decided not to waste time or money on it.
It's sad though, cause Buch made a lot of interesting shows. he could of made something special out of this.
I do remember watching Jiskefet about Jim. Remember that one? Yeah it was lame.

Dunno. It seems there isn't one good Dutch TV program about the Doors made. Not that I know of.

Jiskefet was a comedy program.
I only post the last parts where you can see them in Père-Lachaise.
VPRO station did broadcast a docu in (I think) 1991 about the Doors visit in Amsterdam 68 which was interesting. I remember that a few dutch people (security guards?) were interviewed and the dutch promotor of the show.
Also Jim's short visit at the hospital was discussed.
I have it on VHS cassette, but haven't seen it in 18 years.

The VPRO? I am amazed that lately I see this small broadcasting company being the one that seems to have had the most interest in the Doors. They are in with the idfa with the WYS screening now too.
Sounds very interesting LC. Never saw the program. I really would like to see it.
About more then a year ago I did some researching at Dutch newspapers about the doors but there is so little to find. Even when getting acces to the complete Dutch online library archive doesn't give anything. While there is a lot to find on the Stones performance in Scheveningen and the visit of the Beatles to Holland.
Scott you are so right. It's unbelievable. Nick Drake docu comes to mind wich you mentioned to me. Anton Corbijn's She's lost control movie about Ian Curtis, just to name a few. And about the Doors? Nada.

.I remember there was alos a journalist, Jip Goldstein, who went to the hospital to visit jim.He met Jim some years later and said that Jim was a complete other man then in 1968.This time he looked like a big dwarf with a beard!

I remember reading about Jip Goldstein and his meetings with Jim but Ed, Jim going after Paul Acket's wife I didn't hear lol. Jim oh Jim.
Would love to see this. Is there anyway someone can rip this maybe, or send me a copy? VHS is good. I still have a video player. And ofcourse I'll pay. Or is it worth it to try to contact the VPRO and see if there is a way they can help me?

And Ed I really like the photo's of the Doors in Amsterdam that you have on your site. Do you know if more excist somewhere? Do you think it is worth it digging in to this again some more?
