Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Earlier this year, it wsa announced that ABBA, Darlene Love, Donna Summer, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, KISS, Laura Nyro, LL Cool J, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Chantels, The Hollies, and The Stooges were all nominees for the class 0f 2010 hall of fame inductees.
On Tuesday the voting results were made public: ABBA, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges.
Personally, I think the Stooges should hsve been put in 15 years ago. You have to admit, it's pretty funny ABBA got in before KISS.

I'm thinking what does Abba have to do with Rock music.Hank Chinaski wrote:Earlier this year, it wsa announced that ABBA, Darlene Love, Donna Summer, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, KISS, Laura Nyro, LL Cool J, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Chantels, The Hollies, and The Stooges were all nominees for the class 0f 2010 hall of fame inductees.

LL Cool J was nominated, rap?
It's not really about rock anymore is it?
It's a good thing the Stooges are getting in though.

It may have been Rolling Stone? I heard this on my Xm radio last week...I was pretty..umm....shocked?
Well, she had a big influence on many punk and New Wave groups- in particular 'The B-52's'
Personally, I find her voice schrill and unpleasant....like her face

Believe it....oh I expected this one!jamestkirk wrote:Can you believe ol' Tom got in?! They can surprise you...and usually piss you off, but not on this pick!
I know there are some obscure artists that have made it in....or been on the preliminary list...but Waits is pretty eclectic. Listening to his dark Bone Marrow album....then one of his earlier ones.....then Rain Dog's......it is all so eclectic and I do think there are hints of a bit of rock and roll in some of them.
