Magazines

Post by MysticHeatedWine »

I just got a new magazine yesterday and have 3 more coming in the next few days. They are as follows:

Hit Parader, November, 1969 - This has an article called "The Doors: The Kingdom Has Crumbled."

Hit Parader, February, 1968 - This has an article called "A Year Of The Doors."

I'm also getting 2 more issues of Mexico Canta which are as follows:

One Mexico Canta is from 1968 and one is from 1969. These are different ones than I've posted before. I would need someone to translate these. I'm assuming the 2 Mexico Cantas would be new to most people but I don't want to post the articles from the Hit Parader if they've been posted here in the past. Let me know.

I have scans of those and other Hit Parader articles, which I had contributed to RIM.

Here's what I have:

A short article from Issue #34
"The Doors Are Different" (Issue #39)
"The Doors Are Different, Part 2" (Issue #40)
"A Year of The Doors" (Issue #44)
"The Doors Talk Music" (Issue #47)
"The Kingdom Has Crumbled" (Issue #64)

Okay, then I won't bother posting them. Thanks. :D

I have two relatively recent Interviews. One with Robby from 07 I think and one from John this year. Happy to share. :) Just ask. Want nothing in return, hopefully I will get some time to chuck them on the web soon!

I can still post the 2 Mexico Cantas when they arrive. I just need someone to translate them.

After I got home this past weekend from my summer chess travels, I found an article in one of my boxes I had referred to here awhile back. It appeared on 9/17/70 in The Times Now, a supplement to the Miami Herald and is entitled "The Medium Is The Message And The Message Is Me: An Interview With Jim Morrison." If you guys haven't seen it I can post it when time allows.

I also just got a magazine from February, 1968 called Teen's Top Ten which has an article called "The Doors: Their Fire Is Lit." Let me know if you guys have seen that one before.

Finally, in The Times Now there is a reference in the Entertainment section of Jim's attending the Credence Clearwater Revival concert on August 14th. Was he a fan of CCR ? If he was I didn't know that.

I'll try to post some more magazine articles before I start traveling during the summer. I recently got 3 or 4 more Mexico Canta issues. One from November 1969 has an interview with Jim and Ray. The other, also from that month, has what appears to be a review of one or more of the Aquarius shows. Hopefully someone could translate them.

Looking back in this thread, I had promised to post some articles awhile back. I'll do what I can. I've gotten so much stuff in the last year or two I have to organize it.

I'll try to get to some more articles when time allows but, for now, while I have a moment, here's a 3 page article from Mexico Canta from November of 1969. From what I can make of it, it appears to be an interview with Ray and Jim. If someone can translate it would be appreciated. Thanks. :)
