Taping of Seattle , Vancouver & Bakersfield

We're lucky to have former Doors road manager Vince Treanor here to answer fan questions and share some of his memories. Ask Vince about anything related to the equipment The Doors used, stage set-ups, specific concerts, the band after Jim's death, and working on the Oliver Stone movie.

the Big 3 recordins,

I did not record other shows, unfortunately. Those were the only 3 and I am not sure why I did.

The mikes were placed on stage one at each coerner. They were placed to give a balance between the instrument amps toward the rear of the stage and the Vocal amps at the front of the stage.

the shows were all pretty good. they were not outstanding but good. Interesting, exciting (There were very fw that were not).

I had a pair of AKG-D1000 cardioid mikes. These went into a Sony 4 track stereo recorder on Scotch 3M 702 tape I think. 7" reel to Reel.

The questions are not pestiferous by any means. I do enjoy them and the memories they bring out. they take time, that is true and I definitely don't get paid by anyone. There are a couple of annoying people who do nothing much mroe than scream, but that is par for any open forum like this.

thanks for your participation.
