So many artists had a series of THREE masterworks, back to back to back, often surrounded on all sides by pretty great albums, but not quite in the realm of HOLY TRINITIES. This is sacred, spiritual, mystical stuff I'm talking about; far beyond the mere GREAT albums of rock.
So let's name your Holy Trinities (in our opinion), and bow in reverence to their geniusnesses (new word
)!My only rule is they be -- "back to back to back", with nothing else in between!
..........................................................
Our Love have to be a sentimental favorite with their Big Three; though there are weaknesses, we tend to overlook them when naming LoVE's Holy Trinity.
"LoVE s/t, Da Capo, Forever Changes
..........................................................
The Beatles...was there ever such a trio of masterworks?
Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
............................................................
Bob Dylan...'nuff said....
Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde On Blonde
.............................................................
Gene Clark...my main man
With The Gosdin Brothers, White Light, No Other
..............................................................
Fairport Convention...pure genius
Unhalfbricking, What We Did On Our Holidays, Liege & Lief
...............................................................
Laura Nyro...if these weren't such masterpieces, they'd qualify, if for nothing else, because of Nyro's genius albums titles!
Eli & The 13th Confession, New York Tendaberry, Christmas & The Beads Of Sweat
..............................................................
There are many more, which surprises me, but I'll leave space for you all before I join in again!!
I'll leave the DOORS to you guys..
Cheers!
