Pedal Steel thru Leslie Speaker-rare POCO vid-Rocks country

POCO (1970)

Richie Furay's brilliance as leader, singer/songwriter, 12 string wonder, George Grantham's brilliant drumming and the HIGH Poco vocal work, Jimmy Messina's brilliant Telecaster lead guitar, Randy Meisner (from POCO's BRILLIANT 1st LP--so great!), Timothy B. Schmidt (such a beautiful voice & songwriter), the great Paul Cotton...all formed maybe one of the most enduring country rock bands of any era.

POCO, as we all know...was one of the original groundbreaking country rock groups of the late 60's and 70's, but their second album in 1970 took them to a harder rocking country rock sound that could almost be called Country-Metal!

At any rate, from the opening notes of Hurry Up!, I was enthralled! POCO ruled my stereo for years! Still does.

[green]Rusty's psychedelic sound created by playing his dobro/pedal steel through a Leslie Speaker, created one of the most engrossing, unique and brilliant sounds on a stringed instrument!

Have a listen and PLAY IT LOUD!!! Rusty's steel, Jimmy's telecaster, Richie's guitar, and Poco's mind expanding crazy high harmonies...so good!

Don't Let It Pass By...Richie's genius talent for creating the most beautiful melodies, AND singing them! Soaring and goosebumps harmonies.

Play it LOUD...the Telecaster screams. And I'd swear Rusty's pedal steel talks!
