I was wondering what kind of Bass guitar and amps were used on the albums.

The Amplifier was, If I remember correctly, a Fender twin Reverb. I might be wrong on that one.
The guitar was owned by Doung Luban and to be completely honest I do not have the smallest idea of what it was. My guess - a Fender. Possibly a Gibson.
Sorry I cannot be more positive or accurate on that. Since it belonged to someone else those details were of little importance to me - More to Paul Rothschild and Bruse who had to deal with the tone and all.
Doug was NOT the only bass player on the albums. He was the performer of choice by Paul Rothschild. He wanted the attack of the string instrument rather than the sound from the Piano Bass.

ha, nice pic Ed. Brings back some memories. That was from the West Palm, FL D21c show. Myself and 'other voices' (from LL) were sitting with RK in his trailer chatting, then someone came in and told Robby that Doug was in Ray's trailer and wanted to say hello. About 5 minutes later we saw Doug leaving and decided to introduce ourselves. Nice guy.
