Re: Calling on the gods
I'll see if I can get my friend to post...he saw them at least a half dozen times back in the day. The Doors came to Iowa but I missed them at that infamous Des Moines concert that had only a few in attendance due to bad weather. (I did see Cream & Jefferson Airplane in their prime!)
He saw them at the Whiskey, and at least a half dozen times on the Strip back in the day. A lucky guy...saw LoVE, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, you name them he saw them in their prime, as a teen on the Strip.
He basically "lived" on the Sunset Strip over the years from 1966-1969. Saw Springfield's last concert too. Then he became an LA area DJ & radio personality, and interviewed most of our favorite bands and artists over the next four decades including Arthur Lee. (never Morrison, he was only getting started when Jim died).
