hey guys, i'm not sure if it will fall under cool memorabilia but i think it would be the coolest thing to have, the jacket with the ornate patterning that jim wore on the 1970 tour and at the miami hearings. Is there any place on the web that anyone knows of that does replicas of this jacket or in the same style? thanks :D

The Doors Arista label

Post by KBWILDCHILD »

My weirdest thing I just purchased is a The Doors Self Titled record and it has few things unique about it,

it is on Arista Stereo label but the marking on the vinyl itself say EKL and we all know that means MONO so as soon I learn how upload photos from a iPhone (not computer because I don't use computer but as soon I learn) I will upload photos of it :)

or is it okay if I share it and just send link ??

Is that a mis-label LP? Hence a real rarity and valuable record.

As Arista and Elktra were part of the same corporation after the mergers, it could be a mislabel. I've never heard of a Doors album on Arista!! But then "imports" have some very strange variations!

Cool find!

I've mentioned this before, but the strangest thing I've ever seen offered as Doors memorabilia was Jim's brother Andy's beard hair shavings. Their ex-brother-in-law had it listed on eBay for a short time.

I have seen on ebay and on a bidding site here in NZ quite a few Arista labelled Doors records/45's. I haven't bought any yet.
Starting pre production on a sketch show. More soon.

Genna- you are maybe thinking Astor and they are Australian labels, I'm talking about ARISTA not ASTOR :)
