News about Vince ?

We're lucky to have former Doors road manager Vince Treanor here to answer fan questions and share some of his memories. Ask Vince about anything related to the equipment The Doors used, stage set-ups, specific concerts, the band after Jim's death, and working on the Oliver Stone movie.

I, for one, would love to hear from Vince again. If for no other reason than just to know how he is doing these days. And certainly, I would imagine he might have some new introspection on what he wrote previously in the Forum. Maybe not even so much about the Doors, but just things in general. I am not as old as Vince is (63), but I can tell you that my perspective has changed considerably even in the last 10 years. How the world has changed in the last 10 years. Many of my musical heroes from the the 60s and 70s no longer tour; some are no longer even around. I am sure that there are those who would no like much of what Vince had to say in the Forum, but as for myself - it really kind of clarified things for me. It made sense that this was how it really was. From one man's point of view, who really had nothing to gain (as with publishing a book) except to try and set the record straight and have some input for posterity. I would really like to thank Vince for what he left us & wish him all the best. If he were ever to join in again, I would have a few further questions about their equipment, if somewhat minor (much has already been revealed) ... still would be interesting. I am a bit confused by Vince saying that most of Jim's lyrics for the first 3 albums were written in High School; I somehow always thought that they were written in the months before he met Ray, after leaving college. I think it is strange that Jim's friend took those nice color photos in Paris, just days before Jim died. They were the only photos taken there where Jim seems to be, in some cases, posing - and it looks like Jim wanted the "photo shoot" ... they weren't just candid shots. It makes me wonder if he wanted some last ... nice pictures (in color) ... taken, before he "left us". (?) Of course, we will never know .... for sure. Vince - hope all is well with you.
