I guess Keith is the biggest fan of the man but Chuck did something amazing indeed in his time and compared to most of his contemporaries, obviously not just a one hit wonder. First heard covers of his stuff on Led Zeppelin rehearsal stuffs. Nadine, School Days and later Memphis Tennessee are timeless pieces besides the regular hits. Will check out his latest attempt released last fall and with new songs. Gotta be some mojo in there too.

Ohh and on a Doors related note, it was because of Chuck that Robby rushed to get an electric guitar.

I saw Chuck Berry once back in '72. He was second on the bill with The Strawbs opening and Savoy Brown headlining. I went to see SB.

Chuck was late to the venue so SB came on after The Strawbs. I almost left after SB but as it was still early, I decided to stick around. Holy smokes! Man, he came out rocking did about 3 songs straight through with splits, duckwalks, etc. before he introduced himself. He continued on for at least another hour. A great, and for me, unexpected show. Glad I stayed. :)
