I love it too!! THEIR ABSOLUTE BEST! I have the rare two-tone Reprise vinyl.
What I am listening to right now-- is a disc from the 137 track-complete collection BOX "Picture Book". What can I say. What a brilliant "group" of talent!

Rare Live Grateful Dead & The Beach Boys "Okie From Muskogee" 4-27-71
"On April 27, 1971, The Grateful Dead played the Fillmore East in New York, and put on what I consider to be one of the greatest shows they did that entire year. In fact, the First Set recording of Bertha was the one used on their Skullfuck live album. (Overall, Im generally a 77 man, myself, although 1974 was also a good year.)
But the real keen thing that happened on April 27 was the encore set, where the kings of the three-minute surfpop tune, The Beach Boys, came out and joined with the stoner jamband heroes. The encore set began with the classics Searchin and Riot in Cell Block #9, with the two bands playing together. Then the Dead stepped away and allowed the Beach Boys to play solo, which they did, on their two hits, Good Vibrations and I Get Around. Six minutes must have been just enough time to beam up, because the Dead came back, ready to jam on the Merle Haggard classic, Okie From Muskogee, and finally on the Chuck Berry classic, Johnny B. Goode."

her's another (Early Demo) - Echo & the Bunnymen (The Doors cover) People are Strange
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq10sLQT ... re=related
In 1987, Echo & the Bunnymen recorded a cover of The Doors' "People Are Strange" which first appeared as the B-side to "Lips Like Sugar." The track was subsequently featured on the soundtrack of the motion picture "The Lost Boys" and released as a single on its own right. It was produced by none other than Ray Manzarek of The Doors.
The version featured here is a rare pre-Manzarek demo version of the Bunnymen track.

Thanks Twilla! The Glen Cambell Hour had some really great guests back in the late 60's and early 70's. He was an amazing picker...people forget what a sought after session guy Cambell was...he was one of the top musicians in the day. Was it Phoenix were he was picked up for DUI and his mug shot was everywhere a few years back?
Sad end to his career....
