Oh? What is your native language? I always thought you were here in the states.

Yes, some of the ones in the thread are bands I have been newly introduced to. Keep 'em coming!!!

JTK got me going on Neil Young....I heard Down by the River on my XM...saw the artist name and remembered the thread. Now I have listened to many more of his tracks/songs...and I love them.

Keep rockin' =)

High Flying Bird.......Judy Henske

If you ever get the chance to pick up Judy's work, you will be amazed by her Janis Joplin-like bluesy voice. Judy pre-dates Janis from the folkie days, so it's not fair to compare but I'm trying to hook you Janis lovers!!! She was known as the Queen Of The Beatniks and worked along side the likes of Lenny Bruce (don't tell me you have never heard of Lenny?!!). Judy is more folk/rock/psych....but what soul!!

Here are a couple to illustrate....

The Airplane cover of High Flying Bird is great from Jefferson Airplane Takes Off...pre-Grace days!

My favorite cover is by the Wizards From Kansas...if I can find it I'll share!
More Quicksilver inspired styling....Wizards were a contemporary of QSMS, but played Fillmore East instead of West where Quicksilver ruled!

Here is a free streaming MP3 of High Flying Bird...what do you think of this version?

Sounds a little Marty Balin/AIrplne-ish too...but much more lush and rich!

Nicole..were you jesting? Lenny hung himself in his bathroom in the 60's.

Wow-- that one is quite a bit different than the other two!

I do like it!! I will still favor Airplane (maybe an internal commitment thing ) But this one is great too......has a psych/free flowing sound too it

Thank you for sharing
