If the phpbb board has no working links, then how did I just extract the above from it?

No, the original post is from the phpbb board.

The others are links posted in that thread that go to the yabb board and Mingo City is ProBoards and that linked off the phpbb board as well. Go back and look if you don't believe me. Copy and paste the original url that I just posted tonight into your browser. Then look for the forum called FRIED CHICKEN and open that. You'll see it's right there... a thread called "Wayback Machine".

Stand by. I am going to have to manually remove all the cookies from that website before I can reload it.

Damnit, now I can't get anything to load. I'm going to have to go offline and reboot, then try again.

It's pretty simple.
There are different options to enable to allow/disallow caching/archiving.
Some are set one way, some another.
Go earlier in the dates for that site and you'll see that all the links are dead.
Same with earlier versions of this forum.

You see, I get exactly to where you've been and it's dead.
I can't do anything.

Might not. Was this board named something else or on a different server at that time?

I can see that there are 2 topics and 8 posts that are archived but I can't get to them. It keeps asking for my user ID and password. When I enter it, I get the page not archived message. Maybe that's because I wasn't a member back then? There is only one entry I see for this board.
The date and last poster in here were

How do you see that?

by jim4371
It's because that's how the system works.
It's a read-only system; and the user database and such, the things that make this board function, are not archived.
