Let's give Chas Chandler a little credit..

Definitely. Amazingly, Chas almost got kicked out of the band early on. He did pretty well after he did finally leave. He started managing some guy whose name I can't recall offhand.

Yeah, it definitely started with a 'J'. I think he played the ukelele or something.

Sure it wasn't a lute?

It could have been the lute. Whatever it was, I know he was known for playing it with his nose.

His bass lines on "We Gotta Get Outta this Place" and "It's My Life" are so GOOD and definitely gave the songs and the Animals a distinctive sound. I love how he stands there with legs spread just hitting those notes. Alan Price on keyboard isn't too shabby on "House of the Rising Sun"......that organ always gets me on that track.
Remember Alan P. with Dylan in "Don't Look Back"....he can hold his booze, or NOT. Guzzling on that 5th. or pint. Makes me thirsty just watching.
The original Animals were one of the best. And Chas did quite well post-ANIMALS....managing & producing Hendrix, Slade, and my fave Nick Drake.
Chas was a great bass player first...one of your faves, Chris?
Chas Chandler RIP......sorry for slighting Chas there, Chris!! I shouldda said the Animals gave their music a distinctive sound and made each song their own!

How cute.
I think it was hidden at my work place last night and made the break in security alarm go off in the middle of the night and cause panic.
