'Poem' by Jim Morrison..?
Can anyone tell me information on this release?
"The Mt. Alverno Review - A Quick Anthology of West Coast Verse"
Edited by Michael C. Ford
Here's what i've read about it:
"This collection was released soon after Morrison had moved to Paris, but before he had died...This is one of the few instances where Jim Morrison's poetry was published around this time other then in his own personal releases or the Simon & Schuster book of Jim's poetry. I don't know how many were produced, but from the look of it I can imagine it was a fairly limited number..."
As well, does anyone have information on the French text "au-dela des doors" by Herve Muller?
great photo of jim

I had the Mt. Alverno book listed on my website several years ago. It was published in 1971 while Jim was in Paris by his friend Michael C. Ford in order to raise funds to cover medical expenses for the poet Kenneth Patchen. After Ford lined up all contributors, Jim gave Ford the money to put the book out. Each poet has his own page, like a tiny broadside, and Jim contributed a poem from The New Creatures with eleven other poets like Charles Bukowski, Jack Hampton, and Louise Cabral. Pretty neat little book with an interesting history.

Re: 'Poem' by Jim Morrison..?
I finally picked up a copy of this book and it included a flyer for a "special reception, book sale & poetry reading on Saturday, July 10 at 9: P.M. 7519 Mullholland Dr. honoring the publication of 'The Mt. Alverno Review' (a collection of 12 California poets) as a tribute to one of the greatest practitioners of the craft of poetry, Kenneth Patchen."
I wonder if this event, which was scheduled to occur exactly a week after Jim died, actually took place. The book is signed by Ford. Did he sign all copies of the book, or could it have been signed at the event?
