Hi Vince,
I was just listening to one of these shows and reflecting upon what it would have been like to be at these concerts. The Doors performed 2 sets each night, an early show and a late show. These were the first dates the doors had scheduled in what we be their final U.S. tour. Jim appeared to be in fine form for all four shows, and the audience was very receptive. The January 18th late show stands out amongst them all, with the Doors performing celebration of the lizard as well as inviting Dallas Taylor (drummer for crosby, stills, nash, and young) on stage to jam. It appeared that for the first tiem in a while Jim was actually enjoying himself on stage, and the Doors performance benefitted from that.
To get to my point, do you have any memories of these concerts you would like to share? Was the band excited to play their new material (Morrison Hotel) for the first time? Was Jim excited to begin performing again?
Just wondering if you had any recollections of these concerts Vince! Thanks for your time.
