wha happened wrote:For sure Rothchild took some things. The WDYL session seems to be one of them. He wanted to keep certain things out of the hands of Sugerman, but Danny published the Paris Blues lyrics in his Complete Lyrics book. So he must have had a copy or a lyric sheet. I think that along with Someday Soon were the only unreleased songs in that book. Universal Mind was released on A-L.
Thanks. Is it known when WDYL was recorded? During the Nov 69 MH sessions? Or earlier between SP and MH?

My guess is around November. RHB outtakes have the same vibe as the ones on Perception. During WDYL, Jim sings the "just 25 and don't mind dyin'" line as he did at the Aquarius.

I found this a weird twitt. Why this one? Perhaps he is also a fan of this artwork. It's not incompatible with a Gaga fan...

I'd have no idea, but why do they take so long between releases?

Hopefully it will be The Matrix. IMO, great shows by The Doors and the sound quality is right on.

Hi,
New to the boards,
just offering my two cents here,
I would say that yes Matrix is way, way over due given the fact that they released it back in '08 or '09. Also I would say that London Fog could possibly at the high end of the short list, given that Robby seems to be talking about it in interviews, idk.
But alas given surprise news about the late Dallas '70 coming to light, anything is possible.

It is now seemingly not a priority to release anything particularly fruitful in order to keep the fire alive.

Matrix at its best can come late this year - but certainly not earlier. Because of that, Fog is apparently pushed to 2017.

One of the last news I've heard about London Fog release even there was "Strange Days" sneak a few years ago... Is there any news about this? Or I something lost?

Thanks a lot for answer!

It's hard not to be cynical where future Doors releases are concerned. They do find endless ways to re-re-re-release the best of the greatest of the passive fan favorites, however. I, too, would love to see New Orleans come to light. It's part of their history whether they like it or not. With the 50th. anniversary of the debut release around the corner, I expect they'll do what they always do...let it pass with minimal fanfare. It's a shame and they guard the archives like the Vatican keeps their secrets...shrouded in mystery. Well, we shall see I suppose.

Started a thread not to forget those studio reels that got pulled off at an auction back in 2011, to get it into the ears of those who can make steps. Come over pals, vote, and voice your opinion!

BMR/BMA seems to have been phased out. When Jampol resurrected BMR and turned it into BMA, initially, it was nice to see the remaining AL tapes be released as mainstream product at more affordable pricing. However, taking away the mail-order/internet component seems to have made it difficult for management and Warner to justify releasing less-than-pristine recordings, which has really put an end to the BMR concept. Lower fidelity recordings may not be appropriate for mainstream retail, but certainly have a place for collectors and enthusiasts. Bakersfield 1970, Seattle 1970, Hawaii 1970, Stockholm 1968 (if the band has a copy), Fillmore 1967, post-Morrison live material, studio outtakes, another Boot Yer Butt! volume, and Rock Is Dead are all things that would be viable releases through a non-mainstream mail-order/internet source. It is unlikely that the band is going to release any of that material. The Fog tape will undoubtedly be recycled on various releases moving forward, the Matrix masters will likely be released at some point, and the Isle Of Wight is likely to see a release sooner rather than later (mostly because of the DVD component), but it does seem like The Doors only have a couple of archival things left that they will be releasing.
