One question that turned into 3 1/2......

I was reading recently that after Jim recorded the vocals for The End he went out and got wasted came back and hosed (using a fire extinguiser) down the recording studio. Is this true?

I'm not sure of the timeline if you this would of been before you worked with them but.....

My question more is did Jim ever do anything similar in th time you where there when they wrapped on a tune?

I've just finished reading Danny Sugarmans book Wonderland Avenue what where your impressions of him? He seemed as much on the edge as Jim was.

But find it abit hard to believe that if he was that wasted so much of the time that his memory is so clear

Are his books accurate???

Not to start rambling but have you been asked for your insights on the band for the book or docuementary being made?

Also mean't to say it before, how you couldn't of been asked to testify in Jims trial considering you where closer to him on that night is madness

Where you ever approached by Jims lawyeres to maybe act in his defense?

Was there ever talk during the Miami trial of Jim perhaps leaving the band or taking and extended break and the guys working on without him?

I've been off the forum for about a week or so and have seen the storm the storm that kicked up. Thanks for hanging in there and continuing to answer our questions with your insight

I am not certain of the accuracy of Jim doing damage in any studio with a fire extinguisher. Had he done so it would have meant that, because of the nature of material in most extinguishers, most of not all of the equipment, especially any recording machine, would have been replaced - at his expense.

His antics in studio were generally limited to drinking and the general mess made in that endeavor.

During several of the recording dessions, there were many visitors. they were not too careful about the mess they left behind either. Generally, John Ray and Robby were the more conservative.

I have not been contacted to participate in any ongoing Doors project. If they want my input I would be glad to participate to whatever extend they desired.

I still have the highest regard for all three surviving members. THough much time has passed certainly they have only matured more in their musical talents. Personally, I would like nothing more than to see them reconstituted, with a good singer capable of rendering songs in the same tenor as Jim did. His physical antics would be welcome as well. Unfortunately, that will not happen in my lifetime.

I was deposed by Mr. Fink before the trial but was not asked to present myself at the trial in Florida. I do not know why. It may have been pivotal in the trial and might have completely disposed of the charge.

You do remember that Jim was convicted on charges other than exposing himself. He was drunk and he did use a bit of hard language but certainly not at a level that should have caused so much fuss.
