All factual information is good in the long run. Those that want to hide from it are simply fools. Write more Vince!

Truth and writing

I will write all I can. I will write as accurately as I can, considering that time does dullthe memory. I will answer questions with a factual informatin as I can. I hope all it that is Truth and honet, objectivly presented and defined as such when my emotions, assuming I still have some, affect the information presented.
In contrast to some of the hysteria, slavish belief in mythology and glory seekers that pervades other sites, it is nice to present information to a more realistic, but no less enthusiastic, group and see it questioned or discussed rather than ripped apart by those who know the least about what really happened 40 years ago.
May I interject that several peeps had a nice time on Chat Saturday evening, in some places, and the wee hours of the morning in others.
Play it again, Sam!
Excellent Site, Vince!

Thank you for starting this message board, Vince. I appreciate your candidness and honesty, it is so refreshing! I read your well written introduction dated May 26. I don't know what has occurred here in the past, other than a few troublemakers seem to have made their mark, but I can assure you the serious members like me who make up the majority have nothing but kudos and gratitude to send your way.
All the best and thanks for your memories.

Actually I did not start this board. We owe that honor to another gentlement from Holland.
I do participate with information and commentaries about what happened in the group during my 4 years whith them.
What is most important is the participation of many other people in this Forum. Without those who are interested in some of the background material, there would be no need for it. For those who ask sincere questions there are answers and discussions. For others who have little sense of sincerity or something close to the truth, there are other places.
Glad to have you in the group.

This site is incredible. I pay an average of $5 a month to belong to websites that provide me a lot of information like this one. Vince, we know you love the DOORS and sharing your wealth of knowledge, but I feel guilty because there are not fees or items for sale. Is there any way we can support this site?
Support

Yes, There is a way you can provide a great deal of support for this site. It is so costly. I am sure you can afford it.
You must make regular posts and participate in discussions. Tell others who are interested in the Original Doors and their activities.
The greatest cost to you is the time you spend making posts and telling your friends, those who really like the Doors, about it.
One man has made this forum possible. He did it so that collectors of Doors recordings and memorabilia as well as the stories and incidents that happened with the group can be made know to all who care. He asked me to participate and be available to answer the thousands of questions that many people, like you, would like to have answered.
I agreed and here we are.
Welcome to the Forum. Join the family of those who believe in the Doors, Their Music and the real story behind the Doors, rather than the mythology promoted by those who believe that fiction is more important than reality.
Welcome to The Forum. It is free of everything except the obligation to participate.

I couldn't have said it better than Vince.
Offcourse having a site like this costs money each month, but the joy and the incredible info that you can find here can't be expressed in money.
Like Vince said, the best way to support is to tell everyone you know about this Forum and let them know about this groovy place.
Maybe a link to it on your website Jlizard?
John Densmore has send me a little note two years ago:
Guess he digged my site! It wouldn't be right to ask money for it, that's not my style.I feel lucky enough already to have Vince on my Forum!
The truth is finally happenin'!

Ok Vince,
I'm starting to see what's going on. You're planning to run for political office. That is something to be proud of and my support starts right now!

Vince would never be able to run for office. Politics involves constantly feeding people lines of Bull. Vince tells it straight. That is one reason why this Forum is entitled "Can You Handle The Truth."

Boy, that has a nice ring to it.
You know, I probably could make it. My side of the story is so real that everyone would believe it was the fantasy that politicals feed on (and off). By the time the fickle population of the States woke up, elections would be over, I'd likely be in by a landslide and it would be too late.
Gosh, How about if my first piece of legislation would be to make a national holiday of "Jim Morrison Day" - back to back with 07.04.
At the innaugural Ball we could have Ray, John, Robbie and Ian playing all the Real Doors music and make Freedom man a guest of Honor.
Wow - I like it already. How about a write in campaign...

Had everyone seen this card from John. It is typical of John to do something like this. He is truly a very sensitive and considerate person.
Freedom Man is everlasting lucky to have John give him such a nice card.
I hope that John will forgive Ray for his commentary and find a wayt o reunion and peace. It would be absolutely fabulous.

I am most gratified to learn that the membership is expanding. I hope to have many postings from New and Old (Not necessarily literally) alike.

I am here too, reading everyday to learn about The Doors. This board is pretty interesting, Mr. Treanor. Unfortunately, i don't have much to add to all your hard-core members here...
