Yes, this is a thread ONLY about LOVE's music and offcourse Arthur Lee and other bandmembers.

Very cool, Ed! Love is obviously no match for The Doors when it comes to commerical success, but IMO were every bit as talented.

Right, bally. and for me they had a double barrel talent pool, unlike the doors...with Arthur Lee and Bryan MacClean!

So great and at their peak...sadly ONLY three albums. AND NO video footage at all of them performing any concerts. Just some Dick Clark kind of appearances....lip-synced. They were considered the best live band in LA...bar none! Every show was a happening as the overflow-crowd would spill out onto the streets...the club providing outdoor speakers so all could enjoy! Of course the alley was blocked off for the "show" so ALL had to pay a couple bucks to have the privilege just to HEAR LoVE!!

Like Bryan, Robby contributed one or two great songs per album. That includes a number one hit that became The Doors' signature song. I get what you're saying, though. Bryan was capable of much more than that, but was underutilized and out the group after only three albums.

Hopefully something will turn up in the Wolfgang's Vault archives, but I'm not holding out much hope.

Right...about Robbie. But somehow Robbie's work melded into the Doors catalog smoothly.

Bryan's work on the other hand was so distinctly different than Arthur's. It was more a complimentary but opposite blend of the two styles.....

And we think we're hard done by with what little there is of the Doors!

I think I used to resent Arthur Lee and his attitude about LOVE. He always said that HE was LOVE and the rest were just musicians that he felt could help fulfill his vision.

Other bands were ONE...bands that could not have been, but for all their members...Beatles, DOORS, CSN......

And then we have LOVE (our favorite line-ups are there, true) but ever changing line-ups of LOVE...still, ALWAYS the core is there...Arthur, Bryan and Johnny...without whom the band was never as great.

But truth be told, LOVE was Arthur....even Bryan was Arthur's vision...someone who could contribute to Arthur's vision of what he wanted LOVE to be.

So now, I do believe that ARTHUR WAS LOVE, even if his choices (the individual pieces) for LOVE, made LOVE the great & unified band it was...

and yet..... as Arthur said....."I found out tha everybody is LoVE!
and I was just a part of love"

Yes, that's correct.

I meant 'just music' as in YouTube vids tho (sorry for not making that clear), but Scott has a sticky thread for that.
