Is it true Arthur accidently burned off all his hair?

LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.

Is it true Arthur accidently burned off all his hair?

I read that Arthur fell asleep while he had chemicals in his hair, which burned his hairs down to the root- which left him permanently bald- Is this really true?

I think it happened while filming a Pepsi commercial.

No, the Pepsi commercial head burning incident was Michael Jackson. I believe.

I didn't know Arthur Lee was bald. Maybe all those years of incarceration caused baldness from stress?

Arthur fell asleep in the bathtub with hair straightener on and it burned much of his hair off and never really grew back...that was in the time of first Love band...maybe by 1966. He was barely 20, poor guy! Especially as he was the king of the hippie freaks on the Strip!

Some pretty bad wigs were the result....I like the hats though!
