MYTH BUSTERS-Forever Changes

So the first and maybe biggest myth......BUSTED! From Einarson; in answer to my question, is.....

Love never lived anywhere near the Bela Lugosi mansion. The "Castle" was
the afore mentioned mansion in the Los Feliz part of LA. The burned out
stone edifice used for the first album was from a burned out house in Laurel
Canyon and NOT on the grounds of the Castle OR on Bela Lugosi's
grounds.

The Castle still looms large as the appropriate palace for the royalty of the Strip....
Arthur Lee and Love. The Doors hung there too. Just about everyone...
Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, the door was never locked.

Even "busted", the Castle is central in adding to the lore & magic of LoVE.
What other band lived together in a Castle, holding court to the adoring masses
of contemporary artist's like Grace and Janis or Jim?!!

Near miss in 'No One Here Gets Out Alive'. Hopkins mentions that Andy Warhol and his group were staying at the Castle circa '67 and that Morrison and Nico were cavorting there, but that this was the vacant home of actor Philip Law. Don't know how true this was.

I asked about this somewhere once before; apparently, there were two places known as "The Castle".

That's true. The "Castle" where Nico stayed is mentioned in Doors books, but I don't recall much mention of Love's "Castle." The best story I've read about Jim visiting Love's "Castle" is the one in Michael's book.
