What a fantastic album, in my opinion! Okay, so I have the CD re-issue from 2008, courtesy of Universal Music
Collector's Choice with nicely written liner notes by Richie Unterberger. He says these songs are leftovers from the
Four Sail (1969) sessions.
Some of the songs are easily skippable but there are a few gems.
Isn't there an edited version of "Doggone" without the 9-minute drum solo? I'd love to hear it, if such an edit exists, because this could've been a great song.
Anyhow, some of my favorite songs from this record are "I'll Pray For You," "Signed D.C." (not as good as the original but hey..), "Willow Willow," and "Gather 'Round."
Signed D.C. -

As far as I now there's no version without the drumsolo.Good idea to have a "song suitable for radioplay" without the long drumsolo.
One of my fav's is "Listen To My Song". I always believe that when I mentioned the song to Mike Randle that Arthur should do this song live when he started performing again when he was released from jail, that he took my "advise" and forwarded it to Arthur, who then as a few of us know here played it live in his last years of performing.
Thanks for mentioning the album here!

Some of my favorite LoVE songs are from this one. I have the original gatefold vinyl and the cover art is beautiful. I think Jac missed several gems when picking from Arthur's newest songs.
Actually both of the tracks with long solos are edited down to their perfect size (sans solos) on the LoVE-
STUDIO/LIVE CD release. It is quite pricey new and OOP, but there may be a good deal or two a ebay, and there are a few at amazon for $18-22.
It contains the best 8 tracks from OUT HERE, dumping the weaker tracks and also includes four great live tracks..."Stand Out" is great here, but the gem is the one that is not available on any other official release..."Product of the Times".
Here is the track listing and some reviews at amazon....

Good to see another Love fan here!!
(I am guessing you are also a Judy Collins fan too!)
(If you do not have Studio/Live, Ed (& somedaysoon)...we can do a trade.

Never heard of Judy Collins..
I'd most definitely be up for a trade! The Studio/Live contains the edited version of "Doggone," right? Here's where I read about it:

It also says that "Love Is More Than Words" is edited, too.

So you have it but never listened to it?!! Ha! I knew you had everything LoVE, so I was surprised!
You will enjoy the track order..it is a good listen.
"Listen to My Song" is a favorite of mine too, Ed. Nice story...Arthur sang it well, live.
Glad you suggested it to Mike.
>>somedaysoon...PM me and we can exchange some music.

I recently gave 'Out Here' my initial listenings, and here is my slant (for now, anyway): Overall a quality output. Perhaps too many selections; a single album may have served better in the long run. 'Listen To My Song' and 'Car Lights...' were my highlights, 'Doggone' I found distasteful both musically and lyrically. But you can see a definite dropoff from Four Sail.
Question for those who might know: exactly what were the recording dates for the songs that comprised 'Out Here'?
