LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.
But how does one top Forever Changes, considered by many, including the British Parliament, as the "Greatest Rock Album of All Time"!
Arthur was doomed (by his own hand in creating FC) to play "try-and-top-this' for the rest of his life.
But "Four Sail" (1970) is GREAT, and "Out Here" is as good as most from the era.

I agree, Arthur never managed to make an album like FC.
This offcourse is a problem with other artists also.Although I prefer Strange Days over there first lp.
I've heard FC so manny times by now and when you listen it after some time when you haven't listened to it, it always surprises me how good this album is!
Right Ed. Unlike some of my overplayed albums, Forever Changes somehow sounds fresh and new with every listen. Do you ever find yourself saying "wow! I never heard that song or verse quite like that before!"? I think it is because FC grows and changes with us and the times.
That is the true definition of "timelessness".
Forever Changes is truely TIMELESS....
"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music".
If "Your Mind and We Belong Together" is any indication, a follow up album from the "Forever Changes" lineup would have matched or come pretty close to the quality of that album. I'm sure Bryan would have provided at least a couple more killer tracks for that one, either new songs or older demos.
Both "Four Sail" and "Out Here" do indeed contain some great tracks, but are generally disappointing, even aside from any comparison to "Forever Changes". Arthur mentioned something to the effect that the new lineup wasn't interested in continuing along the lines of "Forever Changes", and the music devolved with the new approach.
