Michael, I know much of the good stuff that happened while you were a member of Love. My question is... What is one of the coolest things that happened to you, after leaving the group? I'll go first.

I was walking in the village in New York in 1972, when I ran into Paul Horn (one of the finest sax players on the planet.) After exchanging greetings, he invited me to go with him to check out Charlie Mingus, who was playing down the street. I agreed, and we headed for the club. After entering the club, we were seated at a table near the bandstand. Mingus was in the zone and didn't notice us, but the alto sax player did, and without missing a beat broke into a note for note jazz version of my guitar solo from "Your Mind and WE". I was completely blown away. Paul looked at me and shrugged, while I just sat there stunned. When they went on break, he came over and introduced himself. I asked him "How", and he interrupted, " I'm over at Juilliard, one of my instructors is a Love fan too, your solo is part of his curriculum. But... I stammered, how did you know I was coming? He smiled and said that was just a coincidence, I play this all the time! WOW...!!! JE.

Wow...what a compliment! You were still hardly more than a kid then and already Mingus & Horn's group were playing LOVE and most importantly YOUR licks!

Of course by then you probably felt like a veteran of the rock wars!
