An amazing blues rock r&b fusion band that
played the Strip the same time as Doors & LOve and were a house band at the Whiskey!

Brilliant stuff...really hot when they rock!

SMOKESTACK LIGHTNING-"OFF THE WALL" 1969

Anyone else know them? Just discovered them through a good friend in music!
The band had been around since the early sixties but gelled in the late sixties as Smokestack Lightning. Very nice.

A 1968 Memphis blues band--part of the fertile Memphis blues sound...pretty damn great!!

Lee "Mud Boy" Baker was their amazing guitarist, later of BIG STAR & Alex Chilton, until finally forming Mud Boy & The Neutrons.

He was tragically murdered in the late 90's.
