...Tom performing a bit ...always the showman...a kind of pantomime ...

to a beautiful instrumental tune from his first LP.

Great choice, Enya :)
No link problems here in Portugal. The only problems are related with our National Economy

You can also try NME, here:

Or Vodpod, here:

There's also an interesting cover by Diana Krall (also adding some good looks):

@Silver LOL, no problems in German economy, just too many rules and regulations and less fun. :/

Tried all the links, even vodpod, the same - this video containts the content of UMG, not available in your country. Except NME link shows a collection with different band interviews, but no Tom Waits.

Well, I got his albums, so not a big deal. Listening Blue Valentine right now.

Temptation... I can't resist

Image
Lyrics:

Rusted brandy in a diamond glass
Everything is made from dreams
Time is made from honey slow and sweet
Only the fools know what it means
Temptation, temptation, temptation
Oh, temptation, temptation, i can't resist
I know that she is made of smoke
But i've lost my way
She knows that i am broke
So that i must play
Temptation, temptation, temptation
Oh, whoa, temptation, temptation, i can't resist
Dutch pink and italian blue
She is waiting there for you
My will has disappeared
Now my confusion's oh so clear
Temptation, temptation, temptation
Whoa, whoa, temptation, temptation

And James, I completely agree, "Blue Valentine" is sooo good! :D
Such a talent. Such great music!

Silver, thanks, but the same...has been like that for a while that's why I gave up video-portals. I know I can fake my IP-address and bypass it all, but can not be bothered. If they don't want me to see it, fine. I will not.

Back on topic : I think Tom Waits is one of the most underestimated artist ever. So unique and talented, great music. I sort of feel like getting drunk with his music, dunno why

I wish you could see this video of Tom on Martin Mull's "talk show" Fernwood Tonight...Tom's van "broke down on the way to Cleveland" so he showed there....He sings "The Piano Has Been Drinking".

The audience doesn't have a clue..they think he is a comedy act. Tom sits down with a bottle of beer when offered a diet soda. It's all staged of course for the Mary Hartman sitcom, but it is a hoot! His dialog with Mull is classic!! When he sits by Martin Mull, Mull says, "Talk a load off your act"....
Tom..."I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy".

This really funny...I recommend fooling the site and watching...quite a sense of humor.

Mike Douglas show....describes Tom as a performer, jazz singer and vagrant and calls him quite a talent...
