Shelagh McDonald...forgotten folk-rock masterpieces

Post by jamestkirk »

For those who are unfamiliar with this amazing Scottish folk-rock artist, you are in for a treat. Her two albums from the early 70's are masterpieces.
Backing musicians included Richard Thompson, Danny Thompson, Dave Mattocks, members of Fotheringay, & Mighty Baby.

She disappeared off the face off the earth in the early 70's without a trace. Then after almost 40 years, in 2005, she reappeared saying she had lost her "mind" and voice due to a bad LSD trip. She lived a nomadic life in Northern England with her husband, house to house, tent to tent..

Then she disappeared again... after saying she is happy and gratified that she & her music is now revered and loved today.

listen and enjoy music from her two original albums....she has that voice of the greats of the day....Sandy Denny, Jacqui McShee....beautiful.
