Random Thoughts

No specific subject to cover, just wanted to throw out a few miscellaneous thoughts for consideration that intrigue me.

-I find it funny how Arthur sometimes referred to Johnny as 'Echols' but called the other band members by their first name; maybe since they knew each other since before birth (per Johnny) it was a camaraderie term.

-I know there was some remorse by Johnny that by jettisoning Bobby Beausoleil they somehow started his downward path, but looking at what he did post Love I conclude that he had the seed for his atrocious acts already implanted.

-More incendiary lyricist: Jim Morrison More colorful lyricist: Arthur Lee

-Dear Snoopy, sometimes less is more. The bonus features from Love Story don't serve you well.

I had some email contact with Snoopy last year, or maybe the year before, but I thought the way he is living now, he's cool with the way he was portrated in LOVE story. He still has a free spirit.

Snoop seems comfortable in his skin & what more can we ask in this life?

And Arthur was "Arthurly" as he signed sometimes. Any one have his autograph signed as"Arthurly"?

What has he done/is doing post Love? There isn't much information about him in any of the threads, maybe because he was never considered a full member of the band. And in Einarson's book there still seems to be a lot of vitriol about his time with the band on all sides. Too bad, I'm sure he could spice things up with his rememberances.

He has kept himself in great shape regardless. His one man band performance in the movie was a trip!

You gotta love the camerawork at the very end of Snoopy's performance. Hilarious!

Johnny mentioned in one of his posts that Arthur would also call him "X" (short for Echols).

I feel for Johnny's loss in Arthur's passing...he and Arthur were & are brothers for life....

....just on another plane now.

More random thoughts:

-Strange how Miami was the city that factored into the crumbling of both the Doors (directly) and Love (indirectly).

-New respect for 'Bummer in the Summer'. To me that was always the least significant song on FC, kind of a throwaway. But Johnny's country twang solo in the middle and the thundering keyboards make it stand out. Even the closing line has some punch to it.
