Johnny: what guitars do/did you prefer

Michael Stuart-Ware (drummer on LoVE's classic albums Da Capo and Forever Changes) and Johnny Echols (lead guitarist and co-founder of LoVE) have joined us here on the Forum to answer your questions about their time with LoVE.At this moment they are not active as members and are not answering questions but I'm proud to have them both aboard at The Freedom Man Forum!

Johnny: what guitars do/did you prefer

Post by jamestkirk »

I don't think you collect as many as Keith Richards (hundreds I hear), but what did you prefer to use onstage and recording with Love.

What are your preferences today and what are your treasures?! Did any of your instruments from the 60's survive the years to still be in your stable of guitars?

Did or do you switch out guitars much on stage & when recording--even changing guitars within a single song session to get the right sound; or to augment more than one guitar part with another in the same song?

I know you had two complimenting or warring lead parts in at least one Forever Changes song...right?
