Robby Krieger Band

Does Robby tour without Ray as the Robby Krieger Band anymore? My first live experience with the Doors was in November 2002 as the RKB were second billed on a free show (Mighty Mighty Bosstones were the headliners believe it or not, but I left after RK was done). Besides Robby the band members were Waylon, Phil, and Angelo (I think). Robby handled most of the lead vocals. Earth shattering experience being in an open air venue, and even with the stage darkened I was about 5 feet away from Robby during the sound check and show, with him wearing his camoflage pants and Lizard Kings hockey jersey. Still remember it as though it was yesterday. Anyway, can anyone enlighten?

Not sure sorry, but he was still wearing his camo pants when I saw D21C in 05!

He's done a few dates on his own, but I can't remember the last one.

Robby did a couple of dates in November 2010 with Evan Marshall singing. Not sure if it was billed as the Robby Krieger Band or just Robby Krieger.

You can find some clips on YouTube.

Robby's played some recent shows billed as The Robby Krieger Jazz Project. Tommy Mars and Arthur Barrow are from Zappa's band

Thanks all. Good to see that Robby is still doing stuff on his own as well as with Ray.

I would say that the RKB concert was probably more enjoyable than the other time I was fortunate enough to see him, which was at the 2005 Strange Days tour opener in Tampa, FL. There was less hype at the RKB concert, with no special lighting to bring the guys on stage nor 'Carmina Burana' playing in the background. It was straight Robby: he came out, the lights went up, he said hello, and started playing all the great stuff. I think the Mosquito was the highlight of that show. But it was great as there were'nt alot of Doors fans there so you could mill around freely in front of the stage almost arms length from Robby.
