LoVE namechecked....reviews etc

LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.

Good one....picks Forever Changes as his favorite all time LP....

Favourite album of all time.

Very tough to call! The album that had the biggest impact on me when I was younger is definitely “Psychocandy” by the Jesus and Mary Chain. It totally blew my mind. Everything about it was perfect – the fantastic pop songs, the beautiful noise, the way the band looked, the artwork and the videos were all amazing. And it was all really subversive, quite confrontational, and that really appealed to me. The next record that I ended up loving as much as that was Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. It’s just fantastic… a lot of the songs are sad, but they make you feel really happy, if you know what I mean? The songwriting is just incredible, the arrangements and the chord changes, all topped off with those gorgeous voices. I first bought it in 1990 and I listened to it virtually every day for about 2 years.. Phenomenal.

My other contender would be Forever Changes by Love. Just simply mindblowing – the songs are from a different universe. I wish I could write songs like Arthur Lee. Beautiful songs, but with a real sense of dread… there’s a really sinister feel about a lot of it. And just incredible guitar playing, great chords… I love it. So.. it’s between these three… and I just remembered The Notorious Byrd Brothers by the Byrds, too.. that’s definitely up there! But, today, I’m going to go with Forever Changes…

Some good descriptions...."the songs are from a different universe".....is perfect! Arthur's Universe!!
