Clear Light Soundtrack in The President's Analyst
Clear Light provided the soundtrack for this film. They were chosen from over 400 groups who tried out for it. Isn't this the band John and Robby were involved with ? Has anyone seen this movie ?

Yeah...fun movie....all the James Cobrun stuff from that "Our Man Flint" era were fun spy spoofs. this was a political satire/spy spoof/sci-fi flick. I saw it at the movies in 1967.
Since Clear Light was released by Elektra (still have the vinyl) what you say may be true. I'll have to dig out the vinyl---I wonder if they were credited?
"In 1966, The Brain Train formed and was managed by Sunset Strip hipster Bud Mathis. They recorded one single before changing their name to Clear Light and signing to Doors' Elektra Records; on which producer Paul A. Rothchild took over management of the band.[citation needed]
The core members of Clear Light were Bob Seal, lead guitarist and vocals, Robbie "The Werewolf" Robison, rhythm guitar and vocals,
Doug Lubahn bass and vocals,
Dallas Taylor drums, and Michael Ney on, unusually, another set of drums.[1][2] The original line-up was featured in the 1967 motion picture The President's Analyst,[2] with Barry McGuire cast as their leader and vocalist.[citation needed] They soon added Cliff De Young on lead vocals;[2] the version of the band seen on their only album cover.[citation needed] However, sometime during the recording process, often described "brutal",
Paul Rothchild was not happy with Robison's guitar playing skills and pressured the group to remove him[citation needed] - he was replaced by keyboard player Ralph Schuckett."

Fraker, and Lalo Schifrin provided the film's musical score. The film has elements of political satire and science fiction, and resembles many of the spy spoofs that proliferated in the mid-60s in the wake of the James Bond phenomenon, including Coburn's Our Man Flint and In Like Flint. The film's themes include privacy concerns, specifically regarding the U.S. Government’s intrusions into the private lives of its citizens...."

Great movie; see it if you can. Occasionally turns up on AMC or TCM in the US, usually late at night.
If I remember from Doug Lubahn's bio he remembered that the role they got called for a stoned rock group; it was something that they could comply with
!
Also look for Barry McGuire in there as well singing acoustic during a hilarious multiple secret agent assassination scene.
