Have John and Ray always been at odds?

We're lucky to have former Doors road manager Vince Treanor here to answer fan questions and share some of his memories. Ask Vince about anything related to the equipment The Doors used, stage set-ups, specific concerts, the band after Jim's death, and working on the Oliver Stone movie.

Have John and Ray always been at odds?

Post by StrangeNightOfStone »

Vince, if you are out there, I'm curious that given that John and Ray are not exactly close these days- how did they fare as bandmates when the Doors were together? They both share a love for jazz, so one would think that mutual interest would bring them together. Based on what you have seen first hand, have they always been at odds, or did they drift apart in the years after Jim died?

How did John and Jim get along? John's book Riders on The Storm offered a less than positive critique of Jim's character, so I'm left to wonder if those two never really hit if off.
"Sometimes I wonder how long the blues is gonna last-cause' every song sounds like the one before last."
