This video has the whole show (plus WDYL from the Matrix 3/10 for some reason).

well, i've received it today

my box is the number 08408

i played the 10" vinyl with this set up:
Clearaudio Emotion with Satisfy tonearm turntable, Dynavector 10x5, NAD C356BEE Sterio Integrated Amplifier, NAD Phono Preamp PP 2i, Revel Concerta2 M16 bookshelf loudspeaker with Type 4 Audioquest cables

the show is very interesting, loved to listen that early original songs, as well of the covers, but i really think that the release worth as a CD only release with all the box with details, something ala Love / Death / Travel box set.

the audio of the vinyl isn't impressive, of course that BB made a really good job but i really prefer the cd this time.

any chance the second reel is being kept back until after 2016 because the doors wont have to worry about copyright issues?

Most of the show is on Youtube. Some of the songs are cut at the ends - I don't know if that was done by the uploader or if that's how they are on the release. I think they sounded great. It's no wonder they got signed later that year. For whatever reason, there's no mention at Amazon or The doors site that Who Do You Love is on this too.

Found out today my dealer ain't forgot to order mine, only tricked me as my girl took it behind my back to surprise me on boxing day. Poor maid. Paid her hard earn for this bunch of shit. It will be great for at least to check how the original cd sounds in my car but I'm actually sad for not warning her to keep this off her list.

I haven't bought the box set (yet). I will soon. IMO, I believe that once the final numbers are in on the 18,000 numbered box set, a stand alone disc will then be released at probably a price point of $14.99. Just my opinion of course.

Merry Christmas everyone and THANKS for being a member here and contributing. It's very much appreciated!

Got mine! Love it! Nice box of extras as well. Breaks my heart that we may never hear "The End" from the missing reel.

I got my set as well. I think they did a great job considering what little is available related to the London Fog, and it's well worth the price to have these recordings and photos that I never imagined existed. I'm amazed at how good the Doors were at that early stage. Also, I'm glad that the fake London Fog handbill wasn't used.

Is that Jim playing harmonica on Rock Me? If so, he sounds remarkably competent.

from the Rhino page on the London fog

check the sentence I put in bold.... because there will be a standalone cd next year??

"Below you’ll see the full track listing for LONDON FOG 1966, but before you rush off to order your copy, keep this in mind: next year marks the 50th anniversary of The Doors’ debut album, and this is only the first of Rhino’s releases to commemorate the occasion. Stay tuned!"

maybe just saying that the london box doesn't worth?

or maybe will be included in a deluxe version of the 1st album?

I believe they're just telling you to go easy on your wallet if this $50 release is gonna blow your whole Doors budget. Who knows. It's a weird way to phrase it, but I doubt they would advertise another version in the description of this version
How're you gonna keep them down on the farm once they've seen Karl Hungus?

I received mine finally, there is 4 problems with it,

the stickers and sticky tape (they could've shipped in a outer box so doesn't get bumped around)

they wrote my fiends name on side on sticky tape so my boxing has 2 letters on it

the sticky tape again damaged the box

took forever lol

but on the positive side- it sounds truly amazing, I decided not to hear YouTube clips, I nearly had tear in my eye, it sounds so realistic as if were right there in that club so I hope that one day we will see more Fog recordings, maybe Nettie Pena recorded more London Fog performances? as they were not just there for one day :)

am I the only one thats thinking this implies that we are getting a 50th year anniversary of the debut album with all outtakes etc? how many outtakes did the first album have? I assume not many. however 2017 marks the 50th ann of Strange days also.

again what album outtakes were included in the ha.com auction that was pulled some 4-5 years ago that contained 7 hours of outtakes iirc. was it for the SD album and WFTS or SP?

as BD67 said, I think Rhino is just letting us know this is just the first of the releases and they are saying 2017 marks the 50th anniv of the band's debut album. I don't think they are implying we are getting the first album complete with outtakes.
