For a drummer..Ringo's instantly recognizable snare intro for RAIN was a revelation! No pop band had ever done anything like this! HEAVY!

Ringo said later that he doesn't really know how he pulled off the complex drumming for the sessions. Probably lucky The Beatles were finished with touring and he never had to repeat the feat LIVE.

So did Giles Martin really let Randy Bachman hear the George Martin masters (above), and discover the REAL secret?! When they hit the chord it really does sound right! If true, it seems the definitive analysis.
