Just want to share this with you guys,

i've been fixing / completing a turntable with a guy who knows them as his hands

is a Technics SL B303, is belt drived but have a brand new one so it will work for a while also use an Ortofon OM5e Stylus to complete it

i'm still using an 90's equipment but i have to upgrade it soon:

Just the sight of a record player makes me feel happy these days - I 'went back to vinyl' in the early part of last year and its been one of my best moves for many a year - its like discovering rock'n'roll all over again...a true joy !

If you can find a great deck - as you have here - and once you've 'placed the needle on the groove' you just never look back...listening to an album (particularly a Doors album) becomes a treat in your day, an ...EVENT

The sound, well...its just bigger, warmer - I can't quite describe it but I can also feel and sense the BASS and bottom end a lot more....

I haven't touched a CD in a while...

I've had my own SONY turntable since 1971 (still have it and it was top-of-the-line), and my folks had had one since 1955, so yeah, I'm a TT fanatic too! I would say my first memories are of Buddy Holly & fats Domino 45's on my mom's little TT (nothing fancy-we didn't really have that kind of HQ technology then). And yeah, those were my mom's records. So rock & roll is in the blood!

The first album we bought as a family was Peter, Paul & Mary for our new console stereo in 1962. Now that was hi-tech!

Similar to this kind of console...far out!



So I never heard anything by the Doors, Beatles, Stones, Animals (and so on) on anything BUT a turntable...not until 8-track players & tapes came out for the car. Now that was innovation!

I still stuck to vinyl until maybe 10 years ago when I couldn't get anything but mp3 bootlegs when I wanted those rarities, and that started me on that side of collecting.

i've seen lot of them here in my country, but never had one of that kind at home, now i'm really happy with my TT, i'm rediscovering lot of music (that's while i'm waiting for new doors material)

I've been thinking about buying for myself one but I'm completely clueless what would be worth it from the currently available brands - Denon, Technics? I guess it all comes down to its pin, how durable it is...

This is my player, A Weltron 2005 from 1970.Works great with a nice surround sound due to the speakers at the sides.

every brand have different range of products from basic to pro, i don't know too much about turntables, but Technics is a good brand for vintage TT, Rega is a good actual brand, but we need a better opinion
