My vinyl:
The Doors: first pressing-gold label-stereo & mono
Strange Days: first pressings-gold label-stereo & mono
Waiting For The Sun: first pressing-gold label-stereo
Soft Parade: first pressing-gold label- stereo
Morrison Hotel: first pressing-red label-stereo
LA Woman" German 1980 red label
...all the vinyl is my treasure (through Morrison Hotel) and all I really care about, especially since I bought each one as they were released at a local record shop...close to the day they arrived on the scene.
Imagine hearing those albums for the first time. We didn't have the internet to suck our joy by talking to death each new/someday release.
All of sudden it was just there, on the wall, in it's full glory! You never knew when or if a new one was coming out.
No song ever heard before, until the moment we slit the shrink, pulled out the inner sleeve (ahhhh, what a sweet smell!), carefully slid the vinyl out, and placed it on the turntable.
Talk about heaven. Looking at that fine record jacket, hearing each track unfold, following along with the lyric sheet (imagine hearing "When The Music's Over" in 1967!--what a revelation.).
You guys don't know what you all missed!!! Or maybe you do, since you all love the DOORS...still!
