The Doors Forum

So, three snippets, from three different pieces of work, with some commentary. My best experience in doing this in a collaborative way, has been in a forum focused on helping people make sense out of their dreams and visions. What we would do is simply offer possibilities. No more, no less. Often any such matter has many possibilities.

Far better then me being railed at, which is what often happens.


"Jim Morrison's Last Poem"

On the first part:
Double meaning on second part, and second part creates another double meaning on the first part:

Vision of America, he has
He is at 28,000 feet and going fast -- obviously, seeing america down below from an airplane
But, his vision he has for America is literally going (away) fast

This speaks of leaving America, and watching his vision for America leave with him.

Second part: Coming after the first part, this speaks of him focusing on forgetting his work in America.

In context, this poem was on the last page of his notebook Pam found in Paris.

This part speaks to me of him wanting to forget that rock past, and move on.

But, I see something not said here, which is a sort of irony. How could he ever forget,
he has a near perfect memory recall. For one.

Even if he did not, how could he ever forget the work he did.

Most people have even yet to get it, he was so far ahead of his time.

He knew that, artists, scientists, others, ultimately know when their work is ahead of their time.

I dare suggestion with zero proof.


Last part, heh: This is deeply powerful, mysterious stuff.

Two things stand out: Money never beats soul, unless he means it whips it. That makes no sense. And anyone who ever had any confidence in Jim would know he would never say money beats soul.

So, that is like a crypto key. It introduces an opposite, potentially implying one or more other statements in this last part is an opposite of what is said.

What could that be?

Finally, there is the beautiful, incredible ending of this part. The last two lines. One is nearly as a demand for magic, for these last words to last.

Why? How? For what reason?


Finally, a snippet from another poem of his:

There is much to it, but it is the opening lines I have most considered over the years since I first read it in the early 90s.

The Fear Likely everyone reads that first part and considers how God was alone for who knows how long before he created his wife (the Helper Spirit, aka, the Holy Spirit jn 14:26). Or, maybe she was just always with him, and it was the children, the angels, who were created first. Maybe even it was the universe.

But, maybe not. Maybe screaming not. IDK.

"A kiss in the storm", I would consider maybe is a statement of something which happened before the stars existed, but also relived in his storm he was in when he wrote this line.

On:
"Money beats soul" expresses the core of spiritual talk. Seeing with your inner eyes, opening the window to your soul so you see with your heart.

This not only protects the language from outside observers, such as lovers do, but also can strengthen understanding in the heart.

And that ties it all into "informed sense".

"Sense" as in the inner capacity of the heart to make sense out of a matter: to see something as it really is, from a pure heart.


Informed sense, speaks of the reader being informed, but it also implies an improved sense.

An 'informed sense' might, for instance, be informed by an inner voice. And by the verse its' self.
