upcoming Matrix release

I expected that the show would get released this year. The lack of information about this or any other show in the last month (Jeff Jampol is the culprit, of course) has made me lost any interest in this being released even the next year. Sure, they don't have enough money, they need mooore and they're too busy milking the casual fans and those who heard only LMF and go nuts over it. They make me sick to my stomach.

According to a post at Idafan, "CD releases sometime in 2012 ~~ London Fog and Matrix box sets".
Should be soon since the Year of the Doors supposedly lasts through Sept '12.

btw, breaking news from idafan:

campaign through September 2012 ~~ "Year Of The Doors" will run through September 2012 with numerous releases planned. All releases during this time frame will be stickered with a silver 'Year Of The Doors 2011-2012' sticker on the packaging.

CD releases sometime in 2012 ~~ London Fog and Matrix box sets

collectible release September 2012 (tentative) ~~ a super-secret "hush-hush" cool collectible will be released, according to a Jeff Jampol post

app release Fall 2012 ~~ Rhino Entertainment will release an app surveying the history of the band.

book release sometime in 2012-2013 ~~ Robby Krieger releases his autobiography, as yet untitled

How exciting.

It isn't like we haven't heard any of this before. I will be absolutely shocked if the Fog and Matrix material is issued on CD this year. Another "secret hush-hush" Jampol-special? No thanks.

It is so discouraging that the LA Woman outtakes have been put on an indefinite hold. Jampol should have fought with the label to get a CD release out of that archival material. Instead, he puts his energy and efforts into marketing gimmicks. Nothing wrong with wanting to make his band some money, but there can be a workable balance between money-making schemes and focusing on the actual music.

Isn't all that info based on Jeff's posts at the LL over the past year? I haven't heard about any new announcements recently. He told people the Matrix wasn't likely to be released this year so I think some of that info may be outdated. The last thing Jeff said was that the Hollywood Bowl would come out in the fall, which according to previous releases, would be sometime in November.

That seems more likely. LA Woman is dead. Matrix/Fog is in a holding pattern.
