Hi,
I've bought in the last year a couple pieces of claimed Doors-used equipment.
The first is an ElecroVoice 676 microphone, which I knew was a model used by Jim and Ray. The man I bought it from, a fellow in California named Milversted, said he had received it from someone with a large quantity of Doors equipment. He was also selling an AKG D 1000E microphone, which I knew was also used at least a few times in 1970, and I was unfortunately made aware of after he had sold it. This is relatively obscure information, and the low prices he was willing to settle for (the AKG went for $50) seemed to verify that he had not done intense research with intent to sell old used microphones as being used by the band at a huge profit.

The other item is a rolling amplifier case, which I will post later, because my keyboard is on the fritz.

Well, what a small world. Yes, that microphone is probably one that was used either by the Doors or in the Doors movie. Do you know anything about this fellow. Do you have an address and phone number? Can you find out how he came by this equipment. Can you ask him to provide a history to demonstrate that it was indeed genuine.

Vince, do you remember any other mic models used by Jim?

It was a picture of the little black holder that sits on top of the microphone stand. I really have no idea why it disappeared.
It's the exact model as in this photo:

There were two types of ElectroVoice mikes. The standard EV-676, which was silver and the EV-676G which was Gold

The "Little black thing" is a mike clip that the one shown in the picture is specifically for an ElectroVoice microphone

The AKG-D1000 mikes were used in 1969 for John's drum mikes. I wanted them because they had a very high rejection pattern and the instrument amps would not bleed into John's drum sounds.
