It was an amazing time!
Here are the whistles, set up in from of the Union Depot in St. Paul, 1999
Prior to being blown in St. Paul, the whistles were subjected to tests in Two Rivers WI- they were blown as a whole, as well as seperatly- here is one of the individual whistle bowls being subjected to high pressure air- it was VERY loud....
Here I am carrying part of Titanic's whistle at the Titanic Artifact Exhibit in Toronto, 1999/2000 (wearing my Jim Morrison beads)

Jim's grave on july 3, 2001
You can still find quotes from Doors songs on nearby crypts and headstones:
Here I am standing outside the doors of the 'Rock & Roll Circus', the club where some people assert Jim overdosed..

LOL, the 30's are the new 20's.MistyJm wrote:Lol that's very sweet B. But I'm actually 11 years older then you.violentblossom wrote:Monique, i'd always figured you to be my age, hun. You're only as old as you feel.
But you're right. It's the spirit that keeps you as young as you want.
I'm not complaing. ( well actually I do ) But seriously there is nothing wrong with being in your 30's.
And I think we have another member to the 30's club. Kostis did I saw it correct and is it your 30 birthday today?
If yes, happy happy birthday .
30's means you're still very young.
Happy Birthday, Kostis!

Wow. How did you get access to carry that Titanic whistle around? Do you work for a museum? Were you involved in any of the salvage operations?
I worked at the Titanic Artifact exhibits in Boston '98, St. Paul '99, Toronto '99/'00, Chicago '00 and Dallas '00. I wasn't on expedition '98 or '00, but did work up close with the artifacts that were put on exhibit. The 20 ton 'Big piece' that was raised in '98 was brought straight to Boston and put on display at the exhibit...I was invited to go on expedition '00, but declined- There was a hostile takeover of the company, and the guy was key in getting me the Titanic exhibit gigs after Boston was deposed-
I quit in loyalty to him.
Everyone expected he would get back in power, at which point my plan was to rejoin the exhibits..but sadly he fell ill and died from complications of cancer..
There is now a new management, and I would like to participate in a future Titanic expedition...and would certainly take part in a Titanic exhibit, should it come to Boston again....
I'll see the wreck one day...

Are there any web sites that have decent pictures of the material that's been receovered from the ship and debris field?
I think it's fascinating to look at that stuff.
I read somewhere that some perfume vials still gave off scent. That's amazing considering the water pressure at depths of 12,000 feet.
Did they find any intact bottles of wine too?
What are the most interesting artifacts they've recovered in your opinion?
