I Shipped this Adcom GFA-555II out to get 'modified'. It came back tuned up and with two 600VA Toroid transformers. The drivers and finals remain stock (the voltage turned up a bit). Wattage rating @120VAC is 382 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms, and over 500 WPC into 4 ohm speakers. The 4 ohm rated Polk LSi15's is takin it pretty well. Driving them hard! The LSi15 speakers and crossover network are still functioning well! Putting it to the Adcom GFA-555II with a Onkyo pro PR-SC885P preamp/processor.
The Adcom GFA-7700 I was using, just isn't doing it, gonna sell it. You can see a couple of the 'can' size capacitors under the hood of this GFA-555II. This amp is all bad.

Oh yeah, what am I listening to? That would be Tool.

I'll just have to say to my neighbors, I have company over and I'm gonna party my ass off with some Friends.

They never said anything about the last time we got all loud and wild. Thank god Brys didn't get hurt jumping into my pool off the 6 foot high fence.

If you haven't heard any of the non-hit Turtles, you're missing something.
very nice pop psych....Flo & Eddie style (Zappa saw something in these guys & made reference to them on his first LP...then of course he enlisted them as singer/musicians).

I'm listening to the Turtle Soup LP right now.

By the way....I'm sober enough to remember to ignore the "debug...message did not send" mode warning.....message sent, message received, ed.

Right on. I was listening to The Royal Scam last Monday sippin' drinks by the pool.

If you have a capable DTS pre/pro or receiver, you should check out Gaucho in DTS 5.1. It sounds great. I know it's way different from listening to the Vinyl LP, but it's worth checking out.

I'm in the minority with my friends, but I thought it was hilarious. I'm so sick of all those music biopics like "Ray" and "Walk The Line" that are overly-sentimentalized versions of the way things really were. Oliver Stone's movie had its own problems, but at least it wasn't some sappy recollection of Jim as a tortured soul who stumbled but found himself and managed to write some great songs all by himself in the process, heh. "Walk Hard" was a great antidote.

That is the rarely heard of & pretty much unknown version. My dealer friend & everyone else that I play it for flips & say that it's better that the hit release.
I've never run into a dealer that knows about it...but it's out there....when I turned my dealer friend on to it, he found TWO copies in his basement stash (he had over twenty copies)..but that was really like winning the lottery!
I found mine in a record bin for $10. I never pass Hot Rocks by, whenever I run across it, without pulling out side FOUR.
If anyone has a cassette player, send me a blank tape & I'll run you off a copy of side four...by the way, "Brown Sugar" is also a different take.......
neither have ever been released on any Lp, cassette or CD since...EVER.

had to take out my copy of hot rocks ust for the hell of it...but alas, im not one of the lucky ones. Though i did pull it out of a record store bin. Its a shame, i would love to hear that versions, as it is my favorite stones song.

I gotta learn how to convert my vinyl to CD so I can get it out for some of you that would like to hear it. I've got GarageBand & Sound Studio on my Mac, just gotta have the time to do it right. Not sure exactly how to do it....is there a free download out there that is really easy & does a good job?
