An Aquarian Symphony -- The Aquarius Theatre box set
anyone know what the deal with this is? seems like its been labeled officially as a pirated release, but what strikes me weird is the numbering on the set. every Doors release via Rhino Handmade is catalouged by a specific number such as:
RHM2 7906 - The Aquarius Theatre First Performance
RHM2 7907 - The Aquarius Theatre Second Performance
RHM2 7908 - Backstage and Dangerous: The Private Rehearsal
RHM2 7909 - The Lost Interview Tapes: Vol. 2
RHM2 7011 - Boot Yer Butt
An Aquarian Symphony is labeled as : RHM2 7910 yet this page comes up blank on the Rhino page...
Anyone think that the guys had originally planned on releasing the Aquarius shows as a boxed set, printed a handful of copies, only to pull the plug on the project? if I remember correctly, an Aquarius box set was scheduled to be released back when news of the shows' pending release was announced.
I lucked out and found a copy of this set online for $80. seems like they're worth a pretty penny

the BMR news page announced an Aquarius box set, but never called it "An Aquarian Symphony" <- that is a pirate that includes for some reason from the Lost Interview Tapes Vol 1 CD, the 1970 Canadian Broadcasting corp interview & the Oswego interview from '67 ? the pirate should have been smarter and included the 7/22/69 rehearsal instead of those interviews

I have it and it looks beautiful. It's full of nice Frank Lisciandro pics, as well.
I think I got it for 25 quid, which is a very reasonable price, considering
I got Detroit for 30 around the same period of time
In that year, we had an intense visitation of energy

Ye I got it for the same price along with a bootleg of backstage and dangerous. At the time I was fooled too, I wasnt sure if it was a legit release or not, for the same reason, the RHM number.kostis wrote:I think when this boot was released Backstage was not out yetLetsMoveGrooveRAMPAGE wrote:HungryHippo wrote: if I remember correctly, an Aquarius box set was scheduled to be released back when news of the shows' pending release was announced.

Cool. Thanks for posting. I didn't really expect any unseen pics. I just wanted to see how a bootleg release put it together. Does it have any essays or is it just pics and blurbs? It looks as nice as anything BMA could release (but so far hasn't). For that reason, I might try looking for an inexpensive copy somewhere.

thanks for posting that pic.
back in the early 2000's when this 'Symphony' pirate set was released, was there ever any official statement from management as to why Bright Midnight skipped the missing Rhino Handmade official catalogue number of 7910 ? I don't think Jampol was around back then, but did Danny ever address about this skipped 7910 catalogue number?
